BRIEF HISTORY

By Order of the MSSR Ministry of Health No. 124 of June 6, 1967, at Chisinau State Institute of Medicine (currently Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy), an epidemiology course was set up in 1967. The Headquarters of the Department

Over the years, the Department has had several locations. In the first two years (1967-1969), the headquarters of the Epidemiology Course was in the central block of the University, in a single room (currently office 117 - Department of Communication and Public Relations). In the autumn of 1969, the Course is transferred to the headquarters of the Central Laboratory, in three rooms on the fourth floor. In 1971, the Department of Epidemiology was transferred again to the Central Block of the University, 4th floor, right wing, in seven rooms. In 1975, the Department relocated to Block no. 6, on Orheiului street (currently Mihai Viteazul), on the 4th floor. The Department used this headquarters until 1990, when the block became a student hostel. The Department was transferred to August 31, 1989. Since 1992, the Department has been again transferred to the central block of the Univesrity (Bd. Ștefan cel Mare şi Sfânt, 165), second floor, where it continues to conduct its activities in the academic area.

Currently, the Department has six study rooms, a scientific laboratory, a methodological office, a computer room, six offices for the academic staff.
